Research Fellow

Auburn University's School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences located in Auburn, Alabama is soliciting applications for a Research Fellow. **This is a 1 year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.** The individual in this position assists others and conducts original research to include planning, maintaining or completing research programs and/or projects involved in the discovery of new knowledge, techniques, and concepts which require an advanced level of scientific/research knowledge, skills and abilities. Essential functions include but are not limited to: oversee and direct a major research program in conjunction with a professor; be responsible for creating and directing research projects, data collection and analysis, and publication of results. Research will be focused on longleaf pine ecosystems to include ground cover vegetation, the impacts of fire, and other related areas.

The minimum qualifications are a doctoral degree in biology and/or ecology or related field. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience.

Additional years work experience with emphasis on conducting fire and ecological research in longleaf pine ecosystems is desired.
